Project "M"

We recently undertook the complete renovation of a semi-basement house in Kifisia, addressing several significant challenges: a lack of natural light, limited space, and the need for an extra room. Our goal was to transform this constrained environment into a bright, spacious, and functional home.

Challenges and Solutions:

  1. Lack of Natural Light: To combat the lack of natural light, we strategically placed large windows to allow sunlight to penetrate deeper into the space. Additionally, we used light colors on the walls and ceilings to reflect and amplify the available light, creating a brighter and more welcoming atmosphere.

  2. Limited Space: Maximizing the use of space was crucial. We opted for an open-plan layout, merging the living room, kitchen, and dining area into one cohesive space. This not only created a sense of openness but also allowed for more fluid movement and better utilization of the available square footage.

  3. Need for an Extra Room: To accommodate the need for an additional room, we reconfigured the floor plan and cleverly used multi-functional furniture. We successfully created two separate teenage bedrooms and a master bedroom, ensuring each room provided privacy and adequate space for its occupants.

Final Result:

The final result is a harmonious blend of transitional and modern styles, characterized by clean lines, functional design, and a warm, inviting ambiance.

  • Unified Living Space: The open-plan living room, kitchen, and dining area serve as the heart of the home, promoting togetherness and interaction. Modern appliances and sleek cabinetry in the kitchen enhance both aesthetics and functionality.

  • Teenage Bedrooms: The two teenage bedrooms are designed with a focus on flexibility and personalization, allowing each teenager to express their style while providing ample storage and study areas.

  • Master Bedroom: The master bedroom offers a serene retreat, with a balanced mix of modern and classic elements, creating a restful and sophisticated environment.

Transitional and Modern Style Features:

  • Transitional Style: This style bridges traditional and contemporary designs, featuring a neutral color palette, comfortable furnishings, and understated elegance. It provides a timeless look that adapts to changing trends and personal tastes.

  • Modern Style: Modern design elements are evident in the minimalist lines, functional layout, and innovative use of materials. The combination of sleek surfaces, metal accents, and strategic lighting enhances the overall aesthetic and creates a fresh, contemporary feel.

This renovation project in Kifisia showcases our commitment to overcoming design challenges and creating beautiful, practical living spaces. The transformed semi-basement house is now a bright, spacious, and stylish home that meets the needs of its residents while reflecting their modern lifestyle.
