Measuring Instructions

Measuring and mapping a room requires careful planning and execution. Follow the steps below to record the measurements of the space you want in detail.

Preparation

Before you start imprinting, prepare the following materials:
  •  
  • Paper for the sketch (large A4 or A3 sheet)
  • A large nib pen or pencil
  • Measure or tape measure (over 2 meters for your convenience)
  • Extra paper for notes

Step 2

Scheme Design

  • Draw the shape of the room on the paper. Start with a basic outline and then define the positions of the openings. (Figure 1)
  • Then on clean papers follow the same procedure for each wall separately.
  • Draw the windows, doors, columns, beams and any other details you consider important in the room (heaters, sockets, antennas, water supplies, piping, etc). Record their exact positions.

Measurements

  • Start measuring the dimensions of the room. Measure the length, width and height of the room. (Figure 2)
  • Record these dimensions on paper based on the images below.(Images 3 - 6)

Colors and Materials (optional)

  • If you want to record the colors of the walls or the materials used (eg floor, coverings, wallpapers, etc.).

Notes

  • Record any additional information or observations about the room on a second sheet of paper. This information may be useful for future planning.
After you have completed the design, check it for any mistakes or omissions.
Make sure your measurements are accurate and that the drawing accurately reflects the room.
